Small in size but huge in possibilities, originating from Peru, the cajón has become one of the most iconic instruments in Flamenco music.

This workshop offers a fun and immediately hands-on discovery of the instrument.

LEARN HOW TO BRING THE CAJÓN TO LIFE

Participants will discover:

• Proper posture and instrument handling
• The different striking zones
• Bass and treble tones
• First basic rhythms
• Essential techniques
• Building rhythmic accompaniment
• Ensemble playing and listening within a group

Depending on the project, the rhythms covered can draw inspiration from Flamenco, Spanish music, and Latin American styles.

No musical background needed!

The cajón allows for quick results and group playing right from the start. The workshop can also include other small percussion instruments to create a truly collective musical experience.

Participants are guided by an experienced musician who passes on essential techniques while sharing insights into the percussionist’s role in a group setting.
